Peet’s Coffee Cold Brew is my one addiction. In fact, I recently bought a bag of Peet’s Baridi Blend (Medium Roast) beans and a box of tea filters, so I can start preparing my own cold brew at home.

The baristas at the Peet’s location I usually visit are often preparing my “usual” order as soon as I walk in.

And a barista at another Peet’s location I recently started visiting now knows my order by heart too. 🙂

Years ago, I decided that the best way to order their cold brew was “medium in a large cup, to allow room for extra ice.” Then I add half-and-half and, sometimes, even a dash of cinnamon.

I drink this all year-round, not just in summer – that’s how much I love it!

PEET’S TRIVIA

Alfred Peet started Peet’s Coffee & Tea Company in Berkeley, California (across the bay from San Francisco) in 1966. He’s been called “the Dutchman who taught America how to drink coffee.”

Three Americans, in particular, saw the difference in Peet’s coffee and studied coffee roasting from Peet in late 1970. The following year, those men founded Starbucks.

Peet was passionate about maintaining the quality of his coffee, and refused to expand his operation the way some were encouraging him to do. Now, almost 60 years later, the number of locations across the country is still less than 250.
