It’s easy to underestimate the value of tools like these!
The flashlights I’m talking about measure 6″ long and 1.25″ wide.
I keep two of them in my apartment at all times — one in the kitchen, near the pantry (so I can find what I’m looking for … those shelves are dark!), and one on a cabinet in the living room.
The one in the living room comes in handy when I need to find a book or other item on one of the bookshelves in that room.
(The shelves and cabinets all came from IKEA, so they’re well-made. But they’re also black … which means things are sometimes hard to find.)
As I’m sure you’ve found in your own life, it’s often the things we take for granted — useful items that aren’t particularly attractive — that we value the most in times of emergency.
Those Rayovac flashlights have come in VERY handy when our electricity has gone out. Even though they’re small, they give out a lot of light … and I rarely have to replace the batteries.
Are there things in YOUR home that you’d hate
to be without in times of emergency?
