I think I first heard about GOOGLE KEEP in the summer of 2023. I was surprised to learn that it’s an app that’s always visible on the right side of my screen whenever I open Gmail!

According to Wikipedia, “Google Keep is a note-taking service included as part of the free, web-based Google Docs Editors Suite offered by Google.”

(Google Docs and Google Sheets – two other platforms I use a lot – are included in that suite.)

But until I downloaded this app to my phone through the Google Play Store, I never used it much. Now, it’s one of my favorite “organization tools”!

I love the way this app allows me to create multiple lists, each in a different color … and sometimes with designs in the background. Grocery lists, books I want to read, doctor appointments, and “to-do” lists are some of the lists I use. (My favorites are the grocery list and my “to-do” list.)

A nice feature about the “checkbox” view is that once you’ve completed a task, you click the box next to the text, and the item is immediately moved to the bottom … crossed out, ready for you to delete it!

(Keep also lets you draw pictures. Even though I’ve never used this feature, I can see how it might come in handy if you’re trying to portray something visually that you think is important.)

I’ve tried other note-taking apps, but this one is the best I’ve seen so far. (I still prefer taking notes the old-fashioned way – with pen and paper, but Google Keep has often been a great “backup.”)
