Pandora is one of my favorite “tools” for taking mini-breaks throughout the day.

This app on my Android phone (which I downloaded from Google Play Store) is an internet radio service that allows me to listen to music whenever and wherever I am.

Listening to music while I work makes it easier for me to stay relaxed, no matter what else I have going on during the day.

(The only time I DON’T listen to music is when I’m either writing or reading something I need to concentrate on.)

Even though the app allows users to upgrade to an “ad-free” version for less than $10 a month, I still use the free version.

One of the things I like best about Pandora is that it lets me choose the type of music that gets streamed on my phone. Two of my favorites are Smooth Jazz Radio and Marvin Gaye Radio. At Christmas time, Mannheim Steamroller (Holiday) Radio is my “go-to.”

One day while I was listening to the Smooth Jazz station at work, one of my co-workers (the other assistant editor at our office) walked past and said, “Please tell me you’re on hold and not actually CHOOSING to listen to that.” 😀

He and the senior editor were die-hard heavy metal music fans.
